As you are aware – a large portion of the northeastern United States is currently experiencing power outages and other issues resulting from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. These outages have temporarily impacted the computer systems used by NRS (National Retail Systems). NRS serves as Stein Mart’s main carrier in the New York, New Jersey, and LA areas. If you currently have LTL freight (Less than 10,000 lbs / 750 cube) for which you need to schedule a pickup, and NRS is your designated carrier, please make every attempt to follow Stein Mart normal routing procedure.
(Please TRY to contact NRS to schedule your pick-up directly with them FIRST !)
If you are unable to get through to NRS or they are unable to schedule a pickup for you due to systems issues – please send an email to Transportation@steinmart.com. Upon receipt of your routing request – the Stein Mart Transportation team will work with our network of carriers to ensure everything possible is done to pick up your freight in a timely manner.
If you have requested routing in accordance with our requirements, and Stein Mart is unable to pick-up your shipment prior to the Not After Date listed on your purchase order, it is NOT necessary to get a PO EXTENTION from your buyer. Rather, please release your shipment as soon as possible and retain a copy of your signed BOL showing the SHIP FROM location and Freight Pick Up date.
Stein Mart will do everything possible to prevent the issuance of Business Recovery Charges to vendors impacted by the circumstances surrounding Hurricane Sandy. In the event you receive a Late Shipment BRC due to a delayed pickup resulting from Hurricane Sandy, please email your request for review of the BRC along with a copy of the signed BOL to firstname.lastname@example.org.
