Dear Valued Stein Mart Vendor,
Recently, Stein Mart completed several initiatives designed to add new functionality in our warehouse and SDCs, while increasing efficiency and cost effectiveness throughout the supply chain. To realize the full benefit of these initiatives, we must make significant changes to our purchase order structure. This announcement should serve as official notification of this intent.
As you are aware, Stein Mart currently transmits a unique purchase order (EDI 850) for each of our stores. Under our new PO structure, we will be transmitting purchase orders by SDC/Warehouse. The store level allocation detail will be listed under the SDQ segment of the EDI. We will also require our vendors transmit ASNs (EDI 856s) and Invoices (EDI 810s) at the SDC level. This change has the potential to represent significant EDI transmission cost savings while streamlining internal processes. In addition, we will be putting the framework in place to enable ordering packs. To do this – we will use the SLN segment.
Currently, Stein Mart is targeting a Go Live date of July 1st, 2015 using our new EDI mapping.
Due to the extensive nature of these changes, Stein Mart will require all vendors to complete a new round of EDI Testing. We anticipate this testing will begin on January 15th , 2015 and must be completed no later than July 1st, 2015. This testing will be conducted by a 3rd party provider. Our new EDI Mapping implementation guide will be posted on our website on January 5th , 2015.
